• Techie Kids
    [age 4 - 5]

The Dr Code Techie Kids introduces fundamental coding concepts to preschoolers at a young age. Through fun and exciting hands-on activities, alongside with software like Scratch Jr, we stimulate the logical thinking aspect of the child’s brain. Having an absorbent mind, children at this stage learn very quickly as they are placed in a learning environment where they will use coding to complete various missions and challenges.

  • Robotics Playground Camp

    Course Description

The Robotics Playground program uses child-friendly robots such as Dash to introduce participants to fundamental coding concepts which learners will use to complete various missions and challenges by programming their robots. Fundamental scientific concepts are also presented through fun and exciting hands-on activities with the use of simple electronic components.

    Lesson Outcome

    • Enhance cognitive capability and logical thinking
    • Solve real world problems through self-initiated reasoning
    • Explore and learn new concepts in their “absorbent mind” phase
    • Build highly creative solutions from what they have learnt
    • Encourage students to keep asking and stay curious

    Deliverables

    • Build craft robots with everyday materials
    • Incorporate science concepts to program robots
    • Tackle a series of robotic challenges

    Remarks

    • Participants should prepare their own iPads

    Robot Turtles Meet Scratch Jr

    Course Description

Children learn best through play. In this course, we will be teaching children on computational thinking via the online and offline platform. Robot Turtles is an addictively fun board game that teaches kids as young as preschoolers to code. Coupled that with Scratch Jr, children are able to create highly creative animation through coding.

    Lesson Outcome

    • Learn sequential logic with Robot Turtles
    • Learn programming with Scratch Jr
    • Learn programming with unplugged activities
    • Understanding how x-y coordinate system works
    • Using animation, give a 2-min pitch to describe “my family”

    Deliverables

    • Build a series of animation and eventually giving a 1-min presentation of an animation about “my family”

    Remarks

    • Participants should prepare their own iPads
